Raven Security Africa Limited, trading as Raven Africa, is a Nairobi-based corporate intelligence, development research and risk advisory firm supporting investors, companies, law firms, developers, NGOs and development organisations across Kenya and East Africa. The firm is led by Dr Mary Aswan Ochieng as CEO and Director, Research & Consultancy, with Edward Omondi Ochieng as Operations Director.

Dr Mary Aswan Ochieng
CEO & Director, Research & ConsultancyDr Mary Ochieng is a sociologist, criminologist and public health specialist with more than a decade of experience in research, higher education and consultancy. Her expertise spans research design, qualitative and quantitative methods, monitoring and evaluation, and field research. She holds a PhD in Sociology and a master’s in Public Health.
At Raven Africa, she provides strategic and methodological leadership across the firm’s research portfolio, overseeing research and evaluation assignments and developing consultancy engagements and partnerships. Her work turns field evidence into practical insights that inform Raven’s corporate intelligence, due diligence and advisory services.
Edward Omondi Ochieng
Operations DirectorEdward Ochieng leads operational delivery across Raven's corporate intelligence, due diligence, verification, market-entry and compliance work. His experience includes company-registry processes, corporate and document verification, business entry, regulatory support and the coordination of field-based assignments in Kenya.
Mercy Atieno Olllows
Director | Compliance SpecialistMercy Atieno Olllows supports Raven Africa's management and compliance function, with responsibility for strengthening internal controls, process discipline, documentation standards and compliance oversight across the firm's operations. Her role includes supporting management review, monitoring adherence to internal procedures, coordinating compliance requirements, maintaining clear records and helping ensure assignments are delivered within Raven's operational, confidentiality and professional standards.
Based in Nairobi, Mercy also supports the practical coordination of compliance matters across client engagements, including process checks, documentation review, internal follow-up and escalation of issues requiring management attention. Her focus is on consistent execution, accountability and maintaining reliable compliance processes as Raven's advisory and field operations grow.
